A Residential Shelter home is a home catering to any child in the age group of 6-17 years in need of care and protection and hailing from critical backgrounds. (E.g. Orphans, Broken Families, Single parent families, nowhere children etc.)
The focus of this program is to provide opportunities for holistic development, and equip the children with basic education and some vocational skill during their stay at the shelter home. The shelter home will serve the dual purpose of catering to children for a long term stay and also children staying for a transit period and to be repatriated back immediately.in Girija balgruha we have 30 kids.
GIRIJA OLD AGED
We are serving with the humanity with the great care and without any in return expectations. We believe that treating the old age people and all the homeless in a candid way is like ‘The Service to God’ and to serve the humanity is not just a tendency or joy but an ‘Actual Bliss’. We are restricted to the limited resources because we are a Non-Government Organization. Nevertheless our limitation, our old age home is in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
In addition to this, we the Girija Oldage home is in need of a helping hand which can support our wide spread services as the poorest of the poor elderly persons are very broad in spectrum. We openly invite each individual to visit our home and extend their support in whatever way they could. Small contributions also help us to boldly stand up and pat affectionately on our back to move forward.
Critical backgrounds and whose parents didn’t have enough resources to get basic needs to the child,The issue of lack of a proper residential care for children in streets, begging on platforms and signals continued to exist. There was a need recognized to provide a home for such children who had nowhere to go. And thus came up the concept of starting up a residential home that is girija balmandir.
The shelter home will serve the dual purpose of catering to children for a long term stay and also children staying for a transit period and to be repatriated back immediately.in Girija balmandir we have 34 kids.
GIRIJA HIV/AIDS Foundation
HIV positive childrens are one of the most vulnerable groups of abandoned kids.many are orphans who have been thrown out of their homes by family members who fear infection and social stigma.
On the streets they are exploited and abused, have no access to heath care and are discriminated against and stigmatised.
As Mr.vasant kunjar & family started growing with more children coming home,Mr.kunjar took a tough decision to take care of HIV/AIDS patients including kids age group of 5 to 17 years. His wife Mrs.Sumitra Kunjar is a pillar of strength and constant supporter, she monitor the health of children with help of doctors, she also cooks their meal and she is their emotional crutch.the children call her Mummy..
